Sider: five million users, a published credit table, and no readable prices.

Sider ships faster than anything else in this category — five dated feature releases in 2026 — and publishes a genuinely useful per-action credit table. It also renders its prices in JavaScript, so you cannot read them without opening the site, and its privacy policy predates most of the product.

Plans and prices

What Sider costs.

Checked against official sources on 2026-09-13. Where the vendor does not publish a figure, this table says so rather than filling the gap.

PlanPriceNotes
Free$030 basic credits per day, plus lifetime totals: 5 YouTube summaries, 10 image generations, 10 PDF or file chats, 200 pages per PDF.
Lite / Pro / MaxNot readableThe current plan names are confirmed in Sider's own payment FAQ, but the pricing page renders in JavaScript and publishes no figures in page text.
Legacy tiers (iOS)$9.99 – $39.99/moVendor-submitted App Store prices for the retired Basic, Pro and Unlimited tiers. Do not treat these as current web pricing.
UltraUnknownA help-centre article titled “Updates to Our Credit System and the New Ultra Plan” exists, but its body does not render.

Model access

Which models you actually get.

GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4 mini, Claude Opus 4.6, Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Haiku 4.5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3.0 Flash, DeepSeek-V4-Flash, GLM-5. Image models include Nano Banana Pro, FLUX 1.1, Ideogram, DALL·E 3 HD and Doubao Seedream 4.5.

All included in the subscription — no API key required. Sider's pricing page states that “all plans include all features”, which implies tiers differ by credit volume and cloud-computer strength rather than by model access. That claim could not be checked against a rendered plan table. A separate mode drives your own logged-in ChatGPT session instead of spending Sider credits.

Limits

What stops you.

ActionCredit cost
Deep Research20 credits per topic
Scholar Research10 credits per topic
Interactive Reading10 credits per use
YouTube summary5–20 credits, by length
ChatPDF1–28 credits per session, by document length
AI translator1–15 credits per use

Image generation1–15 credits, by model
Background removal2 credits per edit

This table is from Sider's own credit-rules page, last updated June 2026 — the most specific per-action costing any tool on this site publishes. What it does not tell you is how many credits each paid plan includes, which Sider does not disclose. Monthly credits reset on your billing anniversary rather than the calendar month, and booster-pack credits never expire.

Fit

Who should buy it, and who should not.

Worth it if

  • You want a browser assistant that is visibly still being built. Sider shipped Sider Code in September 2026, video generation and a Creator rebrand in July, and DeepSeek-V4 in May.
  • You need OCR. Sider does image-to-text conversion and image translation with layout preservation — one of the few tools here that documents this.
  • You translate a lot. Fifty-plus languages, five entry points, with tone, length and model controls.
  • You want to know what each action costs before you spend a credit.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need to compare prices before installing. Neither the plan prices nor the per-plan credit allowances are published as text.
  • Long retention is a problem. Account information is retained for “99 years after the account is closed”, as written in the policy.
  • You need a training opt-out or a DPA. Neither is documented, and content is shared with named providers who hold their own usage rights.
  • You need a security certification. No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 claim appears anywhere on Sider's own site.

Open questions

What Sider does not publish.

Every comparison has gaps. Listing them is more useful than guessing, and these are the things worth checking yourself during a trial.

  • Lite, Pro and Max prices, and the status of the Ultra plan.
  • Monthly credit allowance per tier — the one number that makes the credit table actionable.
  • Paid-tier file limits. The comparison is published as an image with no machine-readable numbers.
  • Context window per model or tier. Undocumented anywhere.
  • Whether any model is tier-gated, against the “all plans include all features” claim.
  • Export formats for chats, summaries, research reports or Wisebase content.

Platform and data

Where it runs and what happens to your content.

Platform

Chrome, Edge and Safari extensions, Windows and macOS desktop apps, iOS and Android, plus the web app. The Chrome listing shows 5,000,000 users, version 5.32.8, last updated 12 September 2026, rated 4.9 from 114,300 ratings — the largest install base and the largest rating sample of any tool on this site.

Privacy and data handling

Documented, but old and permissive. The policy was last updated 5 March 2025, predating most of the 2026 feature set. Account information is retained for 99 years after account closure and communications for 99 years from last contact; usage data is kept 3 months. Training is not addressed, though Sider reserves the right to use content “for internal research, product improvement, and demonstration purposes”. Content is shared with Stability, OpenAI and Anthropic, who “may have their own usage rights”. No DPA, no enterprise controls, no CCPA section.

FAQ

Sider questions.

How much does Sider cost?

Sider's current plans are Lite, Pro and Max — confirmed in its own payment FAQ — but the pricing page renders in JavaScript and publishes no dollar figures as page text. Retired tiers appear in Apple's App Store listing at $9.99 to $39.99 per month. Those are legacy SKUs and iOS prices often differ from web checkout.

How many credits does each Sider plan include?

Sider does not publish this. Its credit-rules page details what each action costs — 20 credits for a Deep Research topic, 1 to 28 for a ChatPDF session, 1 per 10 minutes of audio — but never states how many credits Lite, Pro or Max actually grant, which makes the cost table hard to budget against.

What does Sider's free plan include?

30 basic credits per day, plus lifetime totals rather than monthly ones: 5 YouTube summaries, 10 image generations, and 10 PDF, file or link chats, with a 200-page cap per PDF. These are vendor-published figures.

Does Sider do OCR?

Yes. Sider documents image analysis and conversion to text, and image translation with layout preservation. It is one of the few tools on this site to document OCR explicitly.

How long does Sider keep your data?

Account information is retained for 99 years after the account is closed, and communication records for 99 years from the last contact, as written in the policy dated 5 March 2025. Usage and analytics data is kept 3 months. No training opt-out is documented.
