MultipleChat publishes more than most tools here — a full retention schedule, Swiss data residency, document and spreadsheet builders that export real files. It also has 28 public reviews in total, no independent press coverage, and refund terms that are among the strictest in this comparison.

Which models you actually get.

ChatGPT / GPT-6 Astra, Claude Fable 5.1, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Grok-4.6 and Perplexity Sonar Pro for web search. Eight image models including DALL·E 3, Nano Banana Pro, Stable Diffusion XL, Ideogram and Recraft.

Read the Gemini entry carefully. The included model is a Flash-class model — Google's fast, cheap tier — not the Pro-class model a $19.99 Google AI Pro subscriber receives. The pages also disagree with each other: the homepage says Gemini 3.8 Flash, the subscription page says 3.7. Model sizes are not disclosed for the others either, so whether “Claude” means Opus-class or something cheaper is not published. The terms reserve the right to change model versions “without notice”, including downgrades.

These message counts are hedged in the vendor's own wording — “about”, “around”, “usually” — and the site explains why: “We cannot publish exact token allocations because model API pricing changes frequently.” That is a fair explanation, but it means the caps are indicative rather than contractual, and it makes a like-for-like comparison against a native plan's published limits impossible. The only hard figure published is the 10MB image ceiling.

Fit

Who should buy it, and who should not.

Worth it if

  • You need finished files, not chat transcripts. Document Studio exports DOCX, PDF, Markdown and HTML; Presentation Studio exports .pptx; the data studio exports multi-sheet .xlsx. No other tool on this site does this.
  • You need OCR on scanned documents — documented for PDFs and images.
  • Data residency matters. Content is hosted on Azure in Switzerland North and West, and the privacy policy publishes an actual retention schedule rather than “as long as necessary”: authentication logs 12 months, server logs 90 days, billing records 7 years.
  • You want a written no-training commitment. The policy states MultipleChat does not train, fine-tune or adapt any model on user content, and uses commercial API tiers that prohibit provider-side training.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need Pro-class Gemini. The included model is Flash-class; a $19.99 Google AI Pro plan gives you more.
  • You need a firm usage cap to budget against. The message counts are explicitly approximate and the context window is not published anywhere.
  • You might want a refund. The terms state that creating an account “before any message is sent permanently waives refund rights”, that fees are non-refundable as a general rule, and that no partial-period refunds are given under any circumstances. There is also no uptime guarantee.
  • You rely on native-only features. No bundle reproduces Claude Code, ChatGPT's Codex and Sora, Copilot inside Office, or Perplexity's Comet.
  • You want to read independent reviews before buying. There are almost none — see below.

Open questions

What MultipleChat AI does not publish.

Every comparison has gaps. Listing them is more useful than guessing, and these are the things worth checking yourself during a trial.

  • Annual prices for Pro and Smart. Both pages mention an annual discount; neither publishes the figure.
  • Which models the free tier serves. “Legacy models” is never defined.
  • Model sizes on paid plans — whether “Claude” is Opus-class or a cheaper variant.
  • Context window on any tier. Published nowhere.
  • General file size limit and files per project. Only the 10MB image ceiling is published.
  • Image generation quota per plan.
  • Three of the nine advertised AI Collaboration modes. Only six are named publicly: Smart Chain, Debate, Ensemble, Simulation, Expert and Web-Aided.
  • The paying-subscriber count, which is nowhere disclosed.

Web app on two domains, macOS and Windows desktop sold as a separate $250 one-time bring-your-own-key product, and an Android app. iOS is listed as “coming soon”. There is no browser extension — unlike Monica, Sider and Merlin, this does not sit in your browser sidebar. The operating entity is NLP GmbH, Küsnacht, Switzerland.

Privacy and data handling

The best-documented on this site, and it is not close. A published retention schedule with specific periods per data category, Azure hosting in Switzerland North and West, an explicit statement that user content is not used to train or fine-tune any model, a GDPR Article 28 DPA, and advance notice of subprocessor changes. Two things to weigh against it: there is no zero-retention option, and the subprocessor list includes Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar and advertising pixels for Google, Meta, LinkedIn, X and Reddit — a heavy marketing-tracking stack for a product marketed on privacy. A SOC 2 claim appears on a third-party directory listing but no report, auditor or trust centre could be found.

Free gives about 15 messages a day on legacy models. Pro is $20 a month for about 120 messages a day and 1 million Studio tokens. Smart is $90 a month for around 250 messages a day and 5 million tokens. Team seats are $25 and $95. A desktop app is sold separately at $250 one-time with bring-your-own API keys. Annual prices are referenced but not published.

Which Gemini model does MultipleChat include?

A Flash-class model — Gemini 3.8 Flash per the homepage, 3.7 per the subscription page. Flash is Google's fast, inexpensive tier, not the Pro-class model included in a $19.99 Google AI Pro subscription. If Gemini quality is central to your work, this is the most important line in the comparison.

What is AI Collaboration?

Prompt-level orchestration across several vendor APIs — chaining or parallelising calls to different models and having one model critique, fact-check or merge another's output. Six modes are named publicly: Smart Chain, Debate, Ensemble, Simulation, Expert and Web-Aided, though the subscription page advertises nine. It is not agentic tool use and not a shared model.

Is MultipleChat AI well reviewed?

The public record is very thin. Trustpilot shows 3.3 out of 5 from 26 reviews, with 50% five-star and 30% one-star; G2 carries 2 reviews; Capterra, Software Advice and Slashdot carry none. No mainstream technology press coverage could be found. Negative reviews centre on claims about multi-agent orchestration, upload errors and slow processing.

Can you get a refund from MultipleChat AI?

Rarely. The terms state that fees are non-refundable as a general rule, that creating an account before sending any message permanently waives refund rights because it triggers infrastructure costs, and that no partial-period refunds are given under any circumstances. Narrow exceptions cover billing errors, outages over 72 hours and statutory consumer rights. Anyone considering an annual plan should read this clause first.
